i). PM Narendra Modi has dedicated the Kollam Bypass on the National Highway-66 to the nation. It reduces travel time between Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram. This is the first National Highway project in the country taken up on a 50:50 Centre-State partnership.
ii). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath launched his government’s Rs 50,000-crore farm debt-waiver scheme named ‘Jai Kisan Rin Mukti Yojana’. It is expected to benefit 55 lakh small and marginal farmers.
iii). The second edition of the India-Myanmar bilateral army exercise, IMBEX 2018-19, commenced at Chandimandir Military Station, that houses the headquarters of the Western Command, Chandigarh. The aim of this joint training programme, spread over six days, is to train the Myanmar delegation for participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations under the UN flag.
iv). Mountaineer Satyarup Siddhanta conquered Antartica’s highest point, Mount Sidley. With this feat, he became the first Indian and youngest man to climb the 7 highest peaks and volcanic summits across all continents.
v). The Gandhi Peace Prize for the years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 has been conferred on the following:
- For 2015: Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari for their contribution in Rural Development, Education, Development of natural resources.
- For 2016: Jointly to Akshaya Patra Foundation for its contribution in providing mid-day meals to millions of children across India and Sulabh International for its contribution in improving the condition of sanitation in India and emancipation of manual scavengers.
- For 2017: Ekal Abhiyan Trust for their contribution in providing Education for Rural and Tribal Children in remote areas pan India, Rural Empowerment, Gender and Social Equality.
- For 2018: Shri Yohei Sasakawa for his contribution in Leprosy Eradication in India and across the world.

i). பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி, தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலை 66 கொல்லம் பைபாஸ் நாட்டிற்கு அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்டது. இது ஆலப்புழா மற்றும் திருவனந்தபுரம் இடையே பயண நேரம் குறைகிறது. நாட்டின் முதல் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலைத் திட்டம் இது 50:50 மையம்-மாநில கூட்டணியாகும்.
ii). Madhya Pradesh முதல் அமைச்சர் கமல்நாத் தனது அரசாங்கத்தின் 50,000 கோடி ரூபாய் கடன் தள்ளுபடி திட்டத்தை ‘ஜெய் கிசான் ரின் முக்தி யோஜனா’ என்ற பெயரில் தொடங்கினார். 55 லட்சம் சிறு மற்றும் குறு விவசாயிகள் பயன் அடைவார்கள்.
iii). இந்திய-மியன்மார் இருதரப்பு இராணுவப் பயிற்சியின் இரண்டாவது பதிப்பு, IMBEX 2018-19, சண்டிகண்டிர் இராணுவ நிலையத்தில் தொடங்கியது, இது மேற்குக் கமாண்டின் தலைமையகம், சண்டிகரில் உள்ளது. இந்த கூட்டு பயிற்சித் திட்டத்தின் நோக்கம், ஆறு நாட்களுக்கு மேலாக ஐ.நா. கொடிக்கு ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் அமைதிகாப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளில் பங்கு பெறுவதற்காக மியன்மார் பிரதிநிதித்துவத்தை பயிற்றுவிப்பதாகும்.
iv). அன்டார்டிக்காவின் மிக உயர்ந்த புள்ளி மவுண்ட் சிட்லியை மவுண்டெய்னிர் சத்தியாரப் சித்தந்தா(Satyarup Siddhanta) அடைந்தார். இந்த சாதனையுடன், அவர் அனைத்து கண்டங்களிலும் 7 மிக உயர்ந்த சிகரங்கள் மற்றும் எரிமலை உச்சிமார்களை ஏற முதல் இந்திய மற்றும் இளைய மனிதன்.
v). 2015, 2016, 2017 மற்றும் 2018 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு காந்தி அமைதிக்கான பரிசு பின்வருமாறு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது:
1. 2015 க்கு: விவேகானந்த கேந்திரா, கன்னியாகுமரி கிராமப்புற மேம்பாடு, கல்வி, இயற்கை வளங்களின் வளர்ச்சி ஆகியவற்றிற்கான பங்களிப்பு.
2. 2016 ஆம் ஆண்டு: இந்தியாவில் சுத்தப்படுத்தப்படுவதற்கான நிபந்தனைகளுக்கு இந்தியா மற்றும் சுலாப் இண்டர்நேஷனல் முழுவதும் மில்லியன் கணக்கான குழந்தைகளுக்கு மத்திய உணவு வழங்குவதில் பங்களிப்பதற்காக அதன் பங்களிப்புடன் அக்சியா பட்டா அறக்கட்டளைக்கு இணைந்து, கைத்தொழில் துறையினரின் விடுவிப்பு.
3. 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு: கிராமப்புற மற்றும் பழங்குடி மக்களுக்கு தொலைதூரப் பகுதிகளில் இந்தியா, கிராமப்புற அதிகாரமளித்தல், பாலினம் மற்றும் சமூக சமத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றில் கல்வி வழங்குவதில் அவர்களின் பங்களிப்புக்காக ஏகல் அபிவான் டிரஸ்ட்.
4. 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு: இந்தியாவில் மற்றும் உலகெங்கிலும் Leprosy அகற்றுவதில் பங்களித்ததற்காக ஸ்ரீ யாயி சசகாவ.
