i). South African President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the first IBSA Gandhi-Mandela Memorial Freedom Lecture.

IBSA is an international tripartite grouping for promoting international cooperation among India, Brazil and South Africa. IBSA symbolises three important poles for galvanizing South-South cooperation and greater understanding between three important continents of the developing world namely, Africa, Asia and South America.

ii). Punjab chief minister launched the release of benefits under ‘Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana’. The objective was to give the distressed sections the help they need, socially or economically or psychologically. It was also launched with the motto “Wipe every tear from every eye” as imagined by Mahatma Gandhi.

iii). Kolkata became the first metro city to have a floating market. The market was unveiled by the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee. The Lake Patuli has been transformed into a floating market, which is 500 meters long and 60 meters wide.

iv). “Payments Banks and Small Finance Banks” will offer social security scheme Atal Pension Yojana, announced by the Ministry of Finance. There are 11 Payments banks and 10 Small Finance banks that have received the license from the RBI to start their operations. The APY was launched in 2015 by PM Narendra Modi.

v). Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will launch a new train Samantha Express on February 14 from Nagpur. The Samantha Express will cover prominent places associated with Gautam Buddha and chief architect of the Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar.

The Samantha express will run through the following places:

• Chaityabhoomi (Mumbai): Dr Ambedkar was cremated here after his death on 6 December 1956 and it hosts a memorial for Dr Ambedkar.
• Mhow (Indore): Dr Ambedkar was born at Mhow.
• Bodhgaya (Gaya): Bodhgaya is a place where Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under Bodhi Tree.
• Sarnath (Varanasi): Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma here.
• Lumbini (Nautanwa): It was here Gautama Buddha was born.
• Kushinagar (Gorakhpur): It was here Gautama Buddha attained Parinirvana after his death.
• Deekshabhoomi (Nagpur): It was here Dr Ambedkar converted to Buddhism.

vi). The government of Kerala has launched ‘Pravasi Dividend Pension Scheme’. The governor of Kerala P. Sathasivam made this announcement in the address to the state assembly.

About the Scheme:

The scheme has been introduced by the government of Kerala as part of welfare measures towards Pravasi Malayalis. Under the scheme, a regular pension would be provided to Non-Resident Keralites on a one-time payment of Rs 5 lakh. This onetime payment would be deposited with KIIFB (Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board) for financing infrastructure projects.

viii). The External Affairs Ministry tweeted, that as many as 27 newspapers in 10 ASEAN countries have published PM Modi’s Republic day opinion editorial in 10 languages. The article titled ‘Shared values, common destiny’.

i). தென்னாபிரிக்க ஜனாதிபதி சிரில் ராமபோசா IBSA காந்தி-மண்டேலா நினைவு சுதந்திரம் விரிவுரையை வழங்கினார்.

முக்கிய தகவல்:

இந்தியா, பிரேசில் மற்றும் தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா ஆகிய நாடுகளில் சர்வதேச ஒத்துழைப்பை ஊக்குவிப்பதற்கான ஒரு சர்வதேச முத்தரப்பு குழு IBSA ஆகும். IBSA தென்-தென் ஒத்துழைப்பை வளர்ப்பதற்கான மூன்று முக்கியமான துருவங்களைக் குறிக்கிறது மற்றும் வளரும் உலகின் மூன்று முக்கிய கண்டங்கள், ஆபிரிக்கா, ஆசியா மற்றும் தென் அமெரிக்கா ஆகியவற்றிற்கும் இடையே அதிகமான புரிந்துணர்வு.

ii). பஞ்சாப் முதல் மந்திரி அமரீந்தர் சிங் “மகாத்மா காந்தி சர்வாத் விகாஸ் யோஜனாவின்” கீழ் ஒரு திட்டம் தொடங்கினார். மகாத்மா காந்தி கற்பனை செய்தபடி “ஒவ்வொரு கண்ணிலிருந்தும் ஒவ்வொரு கண்ணீரையும் துடைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்” (“Wipe every tear from every eye”) என்ற குறிப்பில் இது தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

iii). கொல்கத்தாவின் முதல் மிதக்கும் சந்தை உள்ள மெட்ரோ நகரமாக கொல்கத்தா திகழ்கிறது. மேற்கு வங்க மாநில முதலமைச்சர் மம்தா பானர்ஜி திறந்துவைத்தார். ஏரி பட்டுலி ஒரு மிதக்கும் சந்தையாக மாறிவிட்டது, இது 500 மீட்டையும் நீளமும் 60 மீட்டர் அகலமும் கொண்டது.

iv). “பணம் செலுத்தும் வங்கிகள் மற்றும் சிறிய நிதி வங்கிகள்” சமூக பாதுகாப்புத் திட்டம் ‘அடல் ஓய்வூதிய யோஜனாவை’ நிதி அமைச்சகத்தால் அறிவிக்கப்படும். 11 வங்கிகளும், 10 சிறிய நிதி வங்கிகளும் தங்கள் நடவடிக்கைகளை தொடங்குவதற்கான ரிசர்வ் வங்கியிடமிருந்து உரிமம் பெற்றுள்ளன. 2015 ஆம் ஆண்டில் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடியால் APY தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

v). இந்திய இரயில்வே கேட்டரிங் மற்றும் சுற்றுலா கழகம் (IRCTC) நாக்பூரிலிருந்து பிப்ரவரி 14 ஆம் தேதி புதிய ரயில் சமந்தா எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ஒன்றை தொடங்க போகிறது. சமந்தா எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் கவுதம் புத்தர் மற்றும் அரசியலமைப்பின் பிரதான வடிவமைப்பாளரான டாக்டர் B.R.. அம்பேத்கருடன் தொடர்புடைய முக்கிய இடங்களை உள்ளடக்கியது.

vi). கேரளா அரசு ‘பிரவாசி டிவிடென்ட் ஓய்வூதிய திட்டத்தை’ அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. கேரளா பி. சதாசிவம் ஆளுநர் இந்த அறிவிப்பை மாநில சட்ட மன்றத்தில் உரையாற்றினார்.

திட்டம் பற்றி:

ப்ரவாசி மலையாளிக்கு நலன்புரி நடவடிக்கைகளின் ஒரு பகுதியாக கேரள அரசு இந்தத் திட்டத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. இந்த திட்டத்தின் கீழ் ரூ. 5 லட்சம் ஒரு முறை கட்டணமில்லா குடியிருப்பாளர்களுக்கு ஒரு வழக்கமான ஓய்வூதியம் வழங்கப்படும். உள்கட்டமைப்பு திட்டங்களுக்கான நடப்பு நிதியுதவிக்கான இந்த கிளைஃப் (கேரளா இன்ஃப்ராஜக்ட் இன்வெஸ்ட்மென்ட் ஃபண்ட் போர்டு) உடன் இந்த நேரத் தொகையை டெபாசிட் செய்யப்படும்.

vii). 10 ASEAN நாடுகளில் 27 பத்திரிகைகள் பிரதமர் மோடியின் குடியரசு தினசரி கருத்துக்களை 10 மொழிகளில் வெளியிட்டுள்ளதாக வெளிவிவகார அமைச்சகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. ‘பகிரப்பட்ட மதிப்புகள், பொதுவான விதியை’ என்ற தலைப்பில் கட்டுரை வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
